Nikki Thomsen, SHRM-SCP, SPHR
Nikki Thomsen, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, is an HR Professional with a plethora of HR experience in industries such as Health Care, Non-Profits, Governmental Entities, Higher Education, and Manufacturing. Nikki enjoys sharing the knowledge and experiences she has gained over her 16+ years in HR trenches with others while at the same time learning from them. Nikki truly enjoys connecting with people and building a partnership that will lead to building a stronger community of professionals.
Nikki has a passion for employee relations as she realizes that employees are the most precious asset within an organization. She works tirelessly to ensure that all levels of employees, from the bottom of the org chart all the way to the top, feel valued, respected, and heard while helping to maintain the company’s bottom line and meeting strategic objectives.
Nikki has been serving on the board of the South Central Human Resource Management Association (SCHRMA) since 2016. She has held several roles including Certification Chair, Vice President, and President. She also volunteers at her church, services on a Business Curriculum Advisory Committee at Jackson College, has served on the JobStar Board, and when she is able, she and her two boys volunteer to play with the dogs awaiting adoption at the animal shelters.
She holds both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Siena Heights University. Nikki also holds several certifications including, Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification from HRCI, SHRM Senior Certified Professional Certification from the Society of Human Resource Management, True Colors Certified Facilitator from True Colors International, and Employment Training Specialist from Michigan State University (Go Green Go White!)
She and her husband of nearly 17 years and two boys reside in Michigan. They enjoy spending time together camping in the middle of nature, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and playing with their Great Danes.
