Amy DeBruynAmy DeBruyn, SHRM-CP

Amy DeBruyn, SHRM-CP, is an HR professional with a background in Healthcare, Non-Profits, Accounting and Payroll, Higher Education, and Manufacturing.

Amy previously served as HR Director for Hospice of Lenawee where she was responsible for leading all aspects of the organization’s HR functions, including strategic planning, recruiting and retention initiatives, organizational culture, performance management & coaching, employee relations & engagement, policy development & revision, and employment law compliance. Prior to her work at Hospice of Lenawee, she worked in postsecondary education at her alma mater, Siena Heights University.

In addition to Amy’s work within the nonprofit sectors of healthcare and higher ed, Amy also serves on the Human Resource Association of Southeast Michigan’s Board of Directors as the Diversity Director where she enjoys sharing and discussing Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion workplace initiatives and best practices with other HR leaders. Topics of special interest she has presented on include, LGBTQ+, Neurodiversity in the Workplace, and Unconscious Bias.

As a change agent, Amy is passionate about supporting and developing healthy workplace cultures through learning, employee engagement, leadership development, shared team experiences, and relentless optimism.

Amy holds an Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration degree from Jackson College, a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Siena Heights University, and a SHRM-CP certification from the Society for Human Resource Management. She enjoys day dates with her spouse to Costco and Trader Joe’s, creating plant-based recipes and cooking for others, and obsessing over their adorable cats, Fergie and Luci.
