Karen Belair, MSA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR

Karen M. Belair, MSA, SPHR, SHRM-SCP is an HR Professional, with experience in Human Resource Management (HRM), Education, Non-Profit Organizations, Retail, Healthcare, and the Financial Services industries. Karen’s passion is implementing her HR knowledge and experience to create a stronger, more efficient and healthier organization, based on HR planning, policy & procedure, and HR best practices.

She has a passion for education as a life-long learner and has been an Adjunct Professor at Jackson College for nearly 5 years, teaching a variety of business classes, specializing in HRM. She has strong relationships within the Jackson community after serving as Executive Director for Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity from 2001-2009 and as a Chaplain through Allegiance Health. Karen then pursued a career in healthcare as an HR Director.

She earned an SPHR in 2014, followed by the SHRM-SCP credential in 2015. In 2018, she obtained a Master’s Degree, specializing in Human Resource Management from Central Michigan University (Fire Up Chips!) to allow her to continue her passion in higher education. She also holds a certificate in Business Leadership from Harvard.

Karen serves on the Advisory Board for Career Quest Learning Centers and Jackson College, volunteers for the Jackson Chamber of Commerce and Spring Arbor University and is Immediate Past President for Jackson’s local HR Association, SCHRMA.

Karen enjoys the challenges of mentoring, coaching and assisting organizations through sound organizational development principles.  Her interests include cooking, hiking, water sports, music/dancing and traveling; the beach is her happy place! Karen resides in Jackson County on her 3.5-acre property in Hanover MI, where you can find her taking care of her property, running and playing with her 1-year-old German Shephard (Jayde) and she enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren and 9 siblings who live all over the country, providing her with great travel spots.
